      The Elements of Company Culture

      • Work Culture
Published by BXP Creative Team on December 19, 2019

While there are many factors that play a role in the success of your company, success tends to be a result of company culture. How you all get along, the processes you go through, and how you all treat each other all help dictate the type of culture within a business. And when that culture is unhealthy, that’s when people quit, clients leave, and the company has many problems as a whole. Company culture is what really keeps a company together and flourishing on a high level.

      What is Company Culture?

Company culture can be described as the “personality” of an organization. It has to do with how the company operates when it comes to communication, company values, transparency, and throughout day-to-day activities. These processes all help to mold the company into how it defines itself. When you think of company culture, how the company is run and how employees are treated are some of the first thoughts that come to mind. And this culture is typically generated by the executive team early on in the company’s development stage. Over time, the wrinkles in culture get ironed out and the culture continues to build on their solid foundation.

      Importance of Company Culture

The culture within a company is one of its most important qualities. In fact, when faced with the decision to work at two different employers, many job seekers would choose to work for the company with an established culture over the one that doesn’t really have one. And this company culture can ultimately lead to much success within the organization. This culture can even make employees more productive. In fact, in a survey conducted by Deloitte, 82 percent of employees in the survey think that culture is a competitive advantage for a company.

      More Welcoming

There are many jobs out there where the employees don’t feel very welcome. They may walk into work every day, sit at the same cubicle, don’t interact with anyone, then do it all over again the next day. No matter how much money you’re making at this job, you may not feel very welcome. And things even feel worse if you work with a disrespectful boss or one who gets on your case often. Companies with a great culture tend to be very welcoming to employees. These team members enjoy coming into work every day and they feel appreciated for their contributions.

      Boosts Innovation

Company culture is important because it also helps to increase innovation. This is mostly due to the fact that the employee feels very comfortable with a welcoming company culture, which in turn gives them a sense of ownership within the organization. This sense can spark innovation because they feel like their ideas will be heard and appreciated. This type of culture can create a very positive and collaborative work environment full of happy, passionate, and driven people.

      What’s Involved?

There are many different aspects of company culture. From the way employees are treated in the office to what the team does together outside the office, these all help to mold the culture within a company. Take a look at the different elements involved with company culture:

      Authenticity

According to BuiltIn.com, 58 percent of employees would stay at a lower-paying job if that resulted in working with a great boss. This stat shows just how important it is to have great leadership within a company. Furthermore, it helps when leaders also hold themselves up to the same standards as they do for all employees. This creates a more even playing field where all voices will be heard. When leadership is approachable, understanding, and even relatable, this creates a certain level of authenticity that employees love.

      Engagement

When members of the workforce feel engaged within a company, it can do wonders for the success of the business and the level of enjoyment for the employees. However, engagement seems to be a serious problem for many businesses. In fact, according to a report from Deloitte, 87 percent of organizations say that some of the biggest challenges they face have to do with culture and engagement. So how can you improve this within your company? For starters, it’s important to listen to your employees and ask for their feedback. It also helps to engage with them on a frequent basis to check how things are going and to see if there is anything you can do to help.

      Invest in Company Culture Today!

Want more success as a company? Want to create a happier, healthier work environment that employees love every single day? If so, then focusing on your company culture should be a top priority. Not only can this culture lead to more revenue, but it can also lead to a passionate, engaged, and trustworthy workforce that becomes family.
